The Birth II

We were lucky enough to find a superb Gynaecologist who delivered our baby. Through every step of the process he helped and guided us while still managing to instil great confidence.

The day eventually came when we parted ways – a healthy Baby Boy had been born and the Doctor moved on to other patients. An amazing character, the Doctor will always be remembered for his humour, knowledge and because he had delivered our baby.

One of the problems facing parents who have their children born overseas is that you must register the newborns with the authorities back home. This entails a certain amount of red tape but ends with a birth certificate. I visited the Embassy where we live, and gave in all our forms, including multiple birth certificates and a marriage certificate. A week later I headed back to the Embassy to pick up the birth certificate.

Lo and behold while picking up the birth certificate, our Doctor was there – quite befitting really, being at the birth twice, first quite literally, and the second time of becoming a British citizen. Coincidence is an amazing thing sometimes.
