Singing Ability & Parenthood

I am not a born singer but I have come to realise that parenthood changes all of that. All of a sudden your knowledge of a song, in particular the words, brings forth never before seen (in this case heard) renditions of a usually popular song.

Depending on your mood, the new lyrics can be quite good – others may disagree of course. The downside is that each song is completely unique, never to be heard of again. There are those of course who think this is not a downside ….

And why is this happening, well it is quite simple really, it is anything to placate you baby. When they cry, one of the few ways to settle them down (after the feeding and nappy change) is to sing or hum to them – they seem to take great joy in listening to you spout complete and utter twaddle.
