Another Learning Experience

Being new parents we, like all other new parents, seem to have a tendency to get overly worried or protective. There is nothing wrong with this of course, and it is the norm but it does cause some difficult situations.

In the middle of this week our Baby Boy started to regurgitate his milk – more then we have been told is normal. So we contacted our Baby Whisperer (Paediatrician) who advised us to come and see him. After performing his whispering ability he gave us a prescription for, amongst other things, Infant Gaviscon, but here is where we made our mistake. We started the course of Gaviscon but stopped giving him the Infacol which he was used to. The effect was to help the regurgitation, but to increase the amount of pain he was enduring from colic.

After realising and correcting our mistake he is now much better, but it caused us, and more importantly him, much pain and anguish.

Everyday is a learning experience ….
