At first thought, the idea of plastering the torso to create a memento of the [future] occasion is a good one. Putting thoughts into actions is an infinitely more difficult concept.
You are supplied with the plaster strips, and then have to cut them to size, which is easy enough. Then the first hard part begins – you have to dip them one at a time in your bowl of warm water, but not soaking them. Too wet and they become a clot of plaster. Not wet enough and they won’t harden later. Lots of clots ensued.
The second hard part is making sure the cast is smooth. To be honest, there is no way of doing this. I’m hoping that once hardened, there is a way of lightly sanding the surface.
Perfection is not an option, but actually finishing the entire torso is!
