Is laughing at children okay?

So, there I was, standing in a queue in a Baby Shop when the dulcet tones of a child comes from behind me. He had decided to recite the big words on the wall out loud to his father. And it went something like this….

At the end the father congratulated the child on his accuracy. It was a great shame that so many other parents were quietly laughing.
